Kunawong House Museum

The Kunawong House Museum was created from a passion for art by Sermkhun Kunawong. This house museum serves as a collection center for artworks, showcasing the evolution of Thai art from the past to the present. It gathers works that include ancient art objects and pieces demonstrating the emergence of Western-influenced techniques, reflecting the flourishing development of art in Thailand up to contemporary art. It also includes interesting furniture for use and display in this house. The collection, which began accumulating in 1992, is a continuation of the Bangkok Sculpture Center, Thailand’s prominent sculpture museum that operated from 2004 until its closure in 2022. All collections were then moved to this house museum, resulting from over eight years of project planning and construction, displaying a collection born from the love of ancient artifacts, history, and craftsmanship of Sermkhun Kunawong. Thus, Kunawong House Museum was established, hoping to be a repository for artworks that will continue to be passed down to future generations, keeping Thai art vibrant and alive.
